During the first semester of 2016 assets in the National Banking System totaled US$99,631.4 million, which represents an increase of 4.6% compared to the same period in 2015. This growth is the result of the credit portfolio, which represented an increase of 7.2% in this period, added to investments that increased by 6.3%. Likewise deposits increased in 5.3% and the banking assets reached $10,509 million, 8.9% more than in 2015.
