Singapore: Welcome to Calypso - news, insights and legal updates on Asia's shipping sector
Welcome to Calypso
We are delighted to bring you the inaugural edition of our bi-monthly shipping newsletter, Calypso.
This newsletter is named after the famous oceanographic research vessel of Jacques Cousteau. The Firm acted for the Cousteau Foundation after the vessel was accidentally sunk in the Port of Singapore in 1996.
We have created Calypso to keep you on the beat, apprised of industry movements and progress, shipping laws and regulations. Knowledge and information are now all the more important as the industry transitions into the next phase towards decarbonisation and digitalisation.
In our debut edition, we examine the journey towards meeting decarbonisation targets. We review the challenges, pitfalls and successes of IMO 2020 and provide key takeaways on lessons learnt. We also look at how technology and digitalisation are now business-crucial, and we expound on the cybersecurity threats that loom.
If you would like further information or to provide feedback, please do get in touch.
