MacRoberts Partners, Valerie Surgenor and David Flint, are delighted to have been invited to showcase their expertise at the American Bar Association’s Spring Business Law Section meeting next month in New Orleans.

The conference, which is attended by over 1000 lawyers and runs from the 6-8 April, will host over 90 seminars covering all aspects of Business law.

Valerie Surgenor, who has over 15 years’ experience in the areas of data protection, and advises public and private sector clients on all aspects of information management, will co-chair a seminar on IT issues in the healthcare sector and will also speak at seminars on the current state of play of international data transfers in the context of the EU-US Privacy Shield and latest developments both in the US and the EU, along with a presentation on the UK’s approach to celebrity’s use of social media and paid endorsements.

David Flint, who specialises in all aspects of non-contentious intellectual property, with particular emphasis on internet and computer-related contracts and issues, will co-chair a session on the EU Privacy Shield’s impact on data transfer from mobile devices at which Valerie Surgenor will speak.

In addition to chairing a number of committees, sub-committees and task forces, David and Valerie have contributed to numerous ABA publications in the field of IP, IT, social media and cybersecurity.
