In the past year Levant & Partners law firm have continued rendering legal services for its key clients while expanding their portfolio with new projects from major Russian companies.

1)    Levant & Partners was approached by one of the leading automotive manufacturers seeking trademark related consultancy. The Client was planning to import into the Russian Federation cars labeled with a questionable trademark, which could have led to further civil action in the Russian Arbitrary (State Commercial) court. The Client was advised on the problems of registration of a trademark with substantial resemblances to an existing one. We advised the client on the peculiarities and different aspects of intellectual rights protection, trademark registrability under Russian laws and corresponding special procedural instructions. Levant and Partners’ services covered the elaboration of mitigation strategy for several possible causes of action taken against the Client.

2)    In 2013 our lawyers continued providing legal support to Rusnano (government-owned fund for nanotechnology investments). The services covered the evaluation of risks related with extension of areas of production distribution and expansion into a mature market with an established competitive landscape.

3)    The past year was also highlighted by engaging a major Russian company, one of the leading railway transport manufacturers. We revised the firm’s patents and utility models on infringement, as well as provided analysis of patentability of the company’s R&D deliverables (design and technological documentation, know-how, etc.).
