On 1st October 2014, the BSJP team in Warsaw has been joined by Janina Ligner-Żeromska.

Janina is an attorney at law with more than 20 years of experience specializing in intellectual and industrial property rights as well as new technologies law. Prior to joining BSJP, Janina led the intellectual property law team at one of the largest Polish legal firms. She personally is recommended by Chambers Global, World Trademark Review and Legal 500. Janina works mainly for companies from the IT and media industries as well as owners of international brands. She is additionally an expert on sponsoring contracts, in particular in the area of sports. Janina is a member of the International Trademark Association and International Bar Association.

Janina joining the BSJP team fits in with the long-term strategy for establishing a legal firm that has the capacity to respond to the client’s needs and requirements in respect of all areas of law and business. Her objective at BSJP is to develop the broadly interpreted intellectual property law competence, which is to complement other existing service lines at BSJP. Janina works in ongoing collaboration with BSJP’s patent attorney and other partners, the aim of which is to design a multifaceted and complex service package. As a result of Janina’s arrival at the BSJP team, the firm’s client base has expanded and we have been able to successfully offer our existing clients additional services, such as advisory in the field of copyright for an international owner of renewable energy farms, services in respect of copyright and innovation law in a scheme relating to innovative medical research, as well as copyright advisory for one of the largest publishing houses in Poland. Janina and BSJP’s leading partners will be travelling to Germany at the beginning of March to introduce the firm’s new competences to several friendly law firms there, while in May she will be for the first time taking part in the European (jubilee) Advoc conference in Brussels.

Janina speaks fluent English and has an intermediate knowledge of German.
