  • Advoc Exchange Boels Zanders/Seufert

During the sunny summer week of 25 July 2022 up and including 29 July 2022, I had the chance to exchange the premises of my firm, Boels Zanders, Maastricht in, the Netherlands, for an office at Seufert in the beautiful city of Munich, Germany. It was truly an inspiring, informative and fun week, in which I gained huge insights in the German legal work and culture, as well as building close relationships with our colleagues at Seufert.

The week was full of meetings with clients and opposing counsels, working sessions, as well as informal lunches, chats, drinks, sports and a BBQ with the colleagues, and felt almost too short. Very important to me personally was that I could speak, hear and read in German for almost an entire week, which sharpened my feel for the German language as a non-native speaker.

These factors have proven to be the perfect building blocks for an extraordinary experience, and I would highly recommend all associates of the firms in the Advoc network to get out there and have such experience themselves. Special thanks to my hosts Johannes Gruber and Matthias Pallinkasch who managed to make me feel at home at their firm and in their city within one week.
