Maddocks has recently acted on two major Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) listings.

In the first, Maddocks acted for specialist small and mid-cap equities investment manager Ophir Asset Management Limited and Perpetual’s The Trust Company (RE Services) Limited on the $426 million listing of their investment trust, Ophir High Conviction Fund.

The Maddocks team advising on the matter was partner Catherine Merity, consultants Paula McCabe and Pip Bell, and lawyer Lucy Austin.

In the second, the firm advised global video technology company Atomos Limited on its initial public offering (IPO) and ASX listing. The lead managers on the deal were Morgans and Henslow.

The Maddocks team on the matter was partner Catherine Merity, special counsel Rosa Sayer, senior associate Steven Tang, and lawyers Jack Coventry and Jordan Reid.

These two matters continue a run of IPOs and ASX listings by the firm’s Equity Capital Markets team, which is part of the firm’s national Corporate & Commercial practice. This includes advising two US-based technology companies, Revasum,Inc and Pivotal Systems Corporation, last year.

Building on the firm’s experience in this area, Maddocks has released a guide to assist companies in determining whether they qualify for an ASX listing and to gain an understanding of what is involved in the IPO process.

A Guide to Listing & the IPO Process in Australia provides guidance on how to prepare for an IPO and manage the listing process. It also includes an overview of key rules that will apply to companies following listing.
