Law firm Loze & Partners is glad to let you know that while representing our clients, we have successfully achieved that the Latvian court has referred a question to the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) for a preliminary ruling on whether the requirement made by the Latvian Financial and Capital Market Commission for a bank to mainly deal with clients that “have a link with Latvia” is in line with EU regulations on non-discrimination and the free movement of capital.

According to managing partner, Janis Loze, “Taking into account the recent developments in the Latvian banking sector, this will be a much-anticipated preliminary ruling in both Latvia and the European Union as a whole.”

The team working on the case is composed of Janis Loze, Liga Mence and Kristaps Loze.”
