France: - A new partner in Bordeaux (Corporate Law – M&A – Private Equity)
Cornet Vincent Ségurel continues its development and is strengthening its team by welcoming a new partner, Stéphanie Gérard, in Bordeaux within its Corporate Law - M&A - Private Equity team.
Stéphanie Gérard holds a LL.M. in International Business Law from the University of Exeter (UK) and a Master II in Business Law from the University of Paris Dauphine. She has been a member of the Paris Bar since 2009. After starting her career at De Pardieu Brocas Maffei, she joined Squadra Avocats as an associate in 2017, developing her activity between Bordeaux and Paris.
By joining Cornet Vincent Ségurel, Stéphanie Gérard is determined to provide a complete legal offer to her clients, to intervene on large-scale transactions with complex stakes and to contribute to further establish the firm as a reference legal player for M&A and private equity transactions in the South-West of France.
Stéphanie Gérard advises a clientele composed mainly of investment funds and managers of small and medium-sized businesses and industries, in the context of sale, acquisition and investment capital transactions (both in innovation capital and in development and transfer capital), as well as in the setting up of strategic commercial partnerships.
She is multidisciplinary and has developed a particular expertise in the energy and digital sectors. Stéphanie Gérard also advises French and foreign companies on the establishment of strategic commercial partnerships and cross-border transactions.
Finally, she assists her clients in their commercial litigation, particularly in the context of post-acquisition disputes or disputes between shareholders.
"Joining Cornet Vincent Ségurel, one of the leading independent business law firms in France, is a great challenge", says Stéphanie Gérard. "I was attracted by the history of the firm, which has developed in a controlled and coherent manner over the past fifty years, demonstrating a great capacity to adapt to the challenges of its clients. I am very enthusiastic to join this team and to be able to contribute to its influence in the South-West of France".
Alban Pousset-Bougère, partner and member of the firm's Board of Directors, also commented on this appointment: "Stéphanie is perfectly in line with our values and our DNA: we strive to bring together, within a multi-regional structure, experienced and recognized lawyers who combine first-rate legal expertise with a perfect knowledge of our various local ecosystems".
"Her arrival will accelerate our development in Bordeaux and New Aquitaine" adds Hubert Biard, a partner lawyer who had participated in the creation of the Bordeaux office in 2016. "We will be able to rely on the great complementarity between our activities and a broader range of expertise."
Cornet Vincent Ségurel's team in Bordeaux now includes 8 lawyers and legal experts, including 3 partners and a director.
