The very first ADVOC Business Law Conference, held in Bali, on the 19th of August proved to be a great success.

There were 36 delegates in attendance, of which 12 were non-members. Proceedings began  the day before with an enjoyable day of golf. Peter Madavan showed us all that he has not lost his touch, and romped away as the winner.

The conference itself saw speakers of great quality, headed by the Honorable Justice Murray Gleeson, the former Chief Justice of Australia. There was active participation from the delegates and the sessions described as "interactive and very lively". The location of the conference, The Westin Nusa Dua was an inspired choice with the conference room, food and accommodation all proving to be excellent.

The conference dinner saw a post meal talk and presentation by Dato Jude Benny from Singapore, who spoke on the topic “ Shackleton : Lessons in Leadership”. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the talk,  good food and wine.

The conference will be analyzed in detail at the ADVOC Asia meeting in November, with the hope that this will be endorsed as an annual event. Ways to improve the event will also be discussed.

We hope to see more of you at next year’s conference.
