European and International Patent service provided by Ashfords

Ashfords continues to work with UK and European technology businesses to determine what aspects of their technology can be patented, and drafts and files patent specifications tailored to European patent practice.

Ashfords is authorised to represent clients in front of the European Patent Office in non-contentious patent matters.  The European Patent Office is formed via international agreements between a number of countries in and around Europe including the following:

Accordingly, applicants can secure patent rights in these territories via Ashfords European patent services.

Moreover, such patent rights can be extended worldwide via Ashfords International Patent Services.  The patent specifications that Ashfords produce are suitable for easy adoption by other major patent offices, including those in the US, Japan, China, Russia, Australia, India, Brazil, Korea and many others.

Post-grant proceedings such as patent litigation, however, will continue to be a matter exclusively for national courts.

Note - these European and International patent services will NOT be changed by Brexit, and more information about this is provided here
