London is a global City with a multicultural and diverse makeup.  One of the big driving forces in its economy is its property industry, particularly residential investment.

Ashfords' new office in the City is continuing to serve its clients from both home and overseas, having a huge amount of expertise in all areas of the market.

With changes to UK taxes for companies owning properties worth more than £2m, we are seeing more individual tailored advice being required to ensure that any investment is made as tax efficiently as possible.  With further proposed changes, it is important that investors seek advice to ensure that their investments do not get caught within the new regime or that any taxes can be minimised.

The makeup of London's freehold and leasehold housing stock, with long and short leases, can produce all kinds of potential legal and practical issues which may also require detailed legal advice.

We are also being regularly asked to comment on the state of the market in London and the risks to the market.  At present, reported annual growth of 10% in most prime locations, and up to 20% in some areas is outstripping many other asset classes.

With London being the place to have a home, its international residents continue to grow at a pace and there is no reason for this not to continue.
