On 1. January 2014, the new Civil Code (89/2012 Col.) and the new Companies Act  (90/2012 Col.) came into force. These are the two most essential laws regulating business in the Czech Republic; the new codes replaced the Civil Code  of 1964 and the  Commercial Code of 1991. The new codes bring very important changes to the Czech civil law. Therefore, it is necessary to review and amend all agreements and corporate documents of companies making business in the Czech Republic.

The members of ADVOC with clients operating in the Czech Republic should recommend their clients reviewing and amending such documents to comply with the new regulation. The law offices of Dvorak, Hager & Partners have significant experience in such review and amending and will be pleased to assist ADVOC members’ clients to make the relevant documentation compliant with the new Czech law.
