Brazil: Siqueira Castro Hires A New Partner To Boost The Intellectual Property Department
It is with a great pleasure that we announce the admission of Paula Santos e Silva as a partner of the Intellectual Property Department at Siqueira Castro – Advogados in São Paulo. Graduated in Chemical Engineering by University of São Paulo (USP), Paula Santos e Silva has a Postgraduate Degree in Strategic Management of Technological Innovation by University of Campinas – UNICAMP, and a Master Degree in Biotechnology by University of São Paulo - USP. The new partner of the Firm is an Intellectual Property Agent, ABPI`s [Brazilian Association of Intellectual Property] Biotechnology Committee Coordinator and Executive Secretary of ANPEI [Brazilian National Association for Research and Development of Innovative Companies] Intellectual Property Committee. She is also a member of ABPI and AIPPI [International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property], and author of several articles published in the field of patents and innovation in Brazil and abroad.
With over 15 years of experience, Paula Santos e Silva worked at Banco Itaú, at Dow Química, managed the Intellectual Property Department of Natura for four years and coordinated the Patents and Innovation Department of Veirano Advogados for the last three years. Along with Paula Santos e Silva, the technical team of engineers who previously worked under her direct coordination, in addition to trainees, paralegal and administrative staff, now takes part of SCA/SP. In virtue of the admission of Paula Santos e Silva’s team to our ranks, we will, henceforth, render legal services to its extensive client portfolio, which includes some of the main Brazilian and multinational companies operating in our country. The new partner will be based on the Firm’s office in São Paulo and will work together with Márcio Costa de Menezes e Gonçalves and the other partners of the Intellectual Property Department of the Firm all over Brazil, in the major ongoing projects all over the country Upon the admission of Paula Santos e Silva’s team, the IP Department of the Firm has now 25 professionals exclusively dedicated to the field.
