Berlin Packaging is continuing its expansion in Europe. Its French subsidiary Bruni Glass France has just acquired two of its competitors in the South-West of France, Sodis Uhart and Audoubert and Co, in order to strengthen its position as leader in glass and metal packaging.

Founded in 1979 in Biarritz, Sodis Uhart is a family business specialising in glass and metal packaging, which is developing its activity in south-west France. In 2015, it acquired Audoubert and Co, based in Toulouse.

With this merger, Berlin Packaging continues to strengthen its position in France after the acquisition, in 2019, of Calvet Verre located in the South-East of France.

This deal marks the 16th acquisition for Berlin Packaging in Europe since 2016. The Chicago-based group gained a foothold in France with the acquisition of Italian group Bruni Glass and its French subsidiary Bruni Glass France.

A team from Cornet Vincent Ségurel, led by Alexis Marchand, partner, and Alexandra Thil, managing attorney, advised Berlin Packaging and its subsidiary Bruni Glass France on the corporate aspects and legal audit of the transaction, Hélène de Saint Germain, partner, and Alice Oriol, attorney, advised on the social aspects and Cécile Rouquette-Terouanne, partner, and Agathe de Chazal, attorney, advised on the real estate aspects.

"We had already assisted Berlin Packaging in the acquisition of the French subsidiary of Bruni Glass in 2016 and then in the acquisition by Bruni Glass France of Calvet Verre in 2019. We were delighted to work with their team again on this excellent transaction, which confirms the group's ambition to expand in Europe", comments Alexis Marchand.
