In July 2014, the Norman Waterhouse Property, Infrastructure & Development (PID)Team welcomed the appointment of Peter Psaltis as its new Team Leader.

Peter came across to the PID Team from NW’s esteemed Environment & Planning Team where he has been a Partner for the past 5 years, contributing significantly to the E & P Team’s leading presence in this field.

The Doyle’s Guide 2012 and 2014 featured the E&P Team as of one of two First Tier firms in environmental and planning law in South Australia. Peter was also listed as one of the leading Planning and Environment Lawyers in SA.

Peter now brings his expertise to the PID Team, while continuing to manage an Environment and Planning practice.

When asked about the advantages of the new arrangement, Peter observes:

“Increasingly, we are noticing our instructions becoming multi-disciplinary.

Clients aren’t really interested in how we organise ourselves internally. What they look for is value for money, and we see it as a value proposition if our practitioners can provide an integrated, holistic service across a number of related practice areas.”

The PID team comprises 12 practitioners who service a variety of local government, institutional and private clients. Notable examples include majority of the 68 metropolitan and regional councils across South Australia, which collectively manage approximately $16 billion of real property assets. It also acts for a number of publicly listed companies and property funds with interests in prime city commercial premises, a university with multiple campuses and a large national hardware chain.

PID practitioners advise and represent these clients in relation to all aspects of property acquisition, management and disposal, leasing and licensing, development, infrastructure delivery, compulsory acquisition and native title.
