Our Law Firm, through our experienced before the European Court of Human Rights (Court) Lawyer, Mr Achilleas Demetriades, contributed to the successful outcome of the case of Yianopoulu v. Turkey (App. No. 12030/03) in which the Court found that the refusal by the domestic courts to acknowledge the Applicant’s capacity as heir constituted an interference with the exercise of her right to respect for the enjoyment of her possessions and thus found Turkey to be in breach of Article 1 of Protocol No. 1. As a result of the decision on the merits, the Court issued its decision on just satisfaction on 31.5.2016, by which Turkey was ordered to pay the amounts of EUR 14,300,000 (as pecuniary damages), EUR 15,000 (as non-pecuniary damages), and EUR 10,000 (as costs and expenses) to the Applicant.
